Tele-Friends Volunteer

Introduction to the Role

This role involves regular tele-contact with visually impaired people who may be experiencing social isolation. It establishes regular communication, offers friendship, and helps to diminish feelings of loneliness.

Skills required:

This role is suited to people are friendly, talkative, patient and caring, who enjoy chatting over the telephone and have good listening skills. Good communication, commitment to the role and a clear speaking voice are important.  

Time Involved:

The role requires 2 to 4 hours commitment on a weekly or monthly basis.
