During lockdown, we have been extremely grateful for the continued support of a team of our volunteers. The roles they have carried out have been very much appreciated by or clients too. We are going to focus on these volunteers and want to say a huge thank you to them. As usual, we could not offer the range of services that we do without the support of all our volunteers.
Hilary is one of these volunteers. She has been an SRSB volunteer for 5 years and has been a regular facilitator of one of the Cookery Groups.

The Cookery Groups had become so popular pre lockdown, and Hilary very ably ran one of the sessions each week. Our clients thoroughly enjoyed her group and so did Hilary. When talking about the sessions she has commented “We do more than bake. We tell stories, we laugh, we’ve been known to sing and occasionally cry. I have learnt so much and get so much out of the experience.”
It has of course been hard for Hilary to have to cease the group, but she decided that she would like to volunteer during lockdown to support us with Tele-Contact and Tele-Friends. She has quickly adapted and has told us that she loves making the phone calls. Both our clients and our team are really grateful to her for carrying out this role. Thank you so much for being such a loyal and caring supporter Hilary.
