Community Engagement Team Volunteer

Introduction to the Role

Our Community Engagement Team visit community groups and events across Sheffield and Rotherham. Their aim is to raise awareness about the support and services available at SRSB and RSS. They also promote eye health and offer simple, non-medical vision screening as well as offering Looking Ahead Training for clients, and Visual Impairment Awareness Training for organisiations.

The team require volunteers to assist them with raising awareness by chatting to visitors, giving out information and also helping at presentations and training. 

Skills required:

We ask that you are friendly, reliable, flexible and confident with a positive approach. You should be able to make your own travel arrangements to/from the location.

Time Involved:

Generally 2 to 4 hours. 

Where the role is based:

At various locations in Sheffield and Rotherham, or at SRSB's Mappin Street Centre or RSS's Ship Hill Centre.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not currently accepting applications due to the COVID-19 situation, as our centres are closed. When restrictions are lifted we would be very pleased to hear from you.
