English Institute of Sport, Coleridge Road, Sheffield, S9 5DA. Alternate Thursdays. 5pm to 6:45pm
Players can be met (on request) at Arena/Don Valley tram stop at 4.45pm.
Goalball is a Paralympic sport for blind and partially sighted people, but sighted people can also play as everyone wears eye shades so that no one can see. It is then about using your other senses – listening for the audible ball and feeling for the tactile court.
|
Sessions are open to players aged over 11. Sighted family and friends are also welcome.
No previous experience is required. Physically ambulant – participants need to be able to transfer from a seated position (defence) to a standing position (attack).
What is goalball? This short video will tell you.
