‘Talking’ Travel peer support group meeting

This Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people to meet up to share experiences, tips and information.

Retina UK are pleased to invite you to the launch of their new focused interest peer support group called Talking Travel where they are delighted to introduce facilitators Richard Zimbler and Rachael Foley. Richard, their local group facilitator for Wrexham & Wales, and Rachael, their local group facilitator for Manchester, are both keen travellers within the UK as well as abroad and have a wealth of knowledge regarding mobility as visually impaired individuals. This group will give you the opportunity to share your travelling experience, tips, hints & advice from general mobility, including white cane and guide dog training, to public transport and V.I Activity Holidays to Travelling abroad. Please come along to meet other like-minded travellers & day trippers across the UK via this online meeting and share your pros & cons of getting out and about or fears & frustrations of travelling with sight loss.
Whether it’s a long weekender to the Lake District or an all-inclusive once in a lifetime paradise island getaway, whether you are an experienced traveller or a beginner who would like to gain more confidence and independence by plane, train, bus or foot, then please join them and take that trip or vacation you have always dreamed of.
