Take On 160! 01/01/2022

The words 2022 Take On 160 in a green and yellow coloured star

Choose your challenge and lift your spirits in 2022.

SRSB has been supporting people with sight loss in Sheffield for over 160 years. Due to the pandemic we couldn’t celebrate our landmark anniversary until now. That's why we need you to Take on 160+ for SRSB in 2022.

Take on your own challenge and get that great sense of achievement, while helping us smash the barriers faced by people with sight loss.

Whatever you do, join us and make a big difference to people facing sight loss in Sheffield.

  • Choose your challenge: active, creative, giving something up or just getting involved - it's all up for grabs!
  • Plan your activity and timeframe; what are you going to do and when - monthly, quarterly or throughout the year. We’ll give you plenty of ideas
  • Get fundraising; set up a Just Giving page, order your fundraising pack, including sponsor forms and home collection box – then aim to raise £160 or more.

Challenge inspiration
The possibilities are endless for your Take on 160+ challenge. Below are some ideas to get you started, whatever your age, interests or fitness levels:

  • Get active: run, walk, cycle, swim, skydive or wing walk. Why not add a 160+ challenge (miles, steps, laps, minutes, hours etc.)?
  • Get creative: baking, book or boot sale, car washing, craft table, raffle or auction.
  • Give something up: get sponsored to stop smoking, eating chocolate or drinking alcohol
  • Request a home or Ellie collection box and watch those pennies build up.
  • Donate or Give regularly e.g. by direct debit or join the SRSB Weather Lottery.

Why should I do it?

SRSB provides opportunity, support, friendship and services to blind and partially sighted people in Sheffield, helping them to achieve whatever they wish to do and whatever they aspire to be.

We are a totally independent local charity and we rely on public support from fundraising donations from individuals, groups and companies in order to finance the day to day costs of providing and developing services.

Your support will help us to maintain the vital services we offer over 3,800 clients who access or services.

What support will SRSB give me?

We will provide you with the following to support your event:

  • A fundraising pack with lots of ideas and Invitation to send to your family, friends or colleagues.
  • Collection box to collect donations.
  • You will receive a thank you letter and certificate after the event to acknowledge how much you raised.
