Bus service changes in South Yorkshire from Sunday 27 October and Monday 4 November

From Sunday 27 October and Monday 4 November, there will be some changes to services in South Yorkshire with the introduction of some route changes, along with some minor timetable changes to address punctuality issues, improvements in service frequency and improved access to employment and local amenities.

What services are affected? 

A summary of the services changes is shown below:

Changes from Sunday 27 October

• X17 (Stagecoach) - Barnsley – Meadowhall – Sheffield – Chesterfield – Matlock – Wirksworth:

• Between Barnsley and Sheffield: timetable and route changes will be implemented so that between Meadowhall and Arena Square, buses will operate via Meadowhall Road, Meadowhall Way, Meadowhall Drive, Weedon Street, Dunlop Street and Carbrook Street rather than Meadowhall Way, Vulcan Road, Sheffield Road and Attercliffe Common.

• Between Wirksworth/Matlock and Sheffield there will be minor timetable changes.
• 43a will be renumbered to service 42
• 44 will have minor timetable changes.

• 43, 43a and 44 (Stagecoach) Sheffield – Lowedges – Dronfield Woodhouse – Dronfield – Chesterfield

• 257c (Hulleys of Baslow) – Sheffield – Hathersage – Castleton - Glossop – there will be changes to the Sunday timetable
• 218 (TM Travel) – a winter timetable will be introduced 

Changes from Monday 4 November 

• 18 18a (First) – Sheffield – Heeley – Meersbrook – Woodseats – Hemsworth – Gleadless – Darnall – Meadowhall – Southey Green – Hillsborough – there will be minor changes to early afternoon journeys towards Hillsborough only
• 75, 76 (First) - Lowedges – Woodseats – Sheffield – Firth Park – Chapeltown – Meadowhall – there will be minor timetable changes to aid punctuality around school time journeys
• 95 (First) – Walkley – Sheffield – Rotherham – Aston - Beighton there will be minor timetable changes:

• From Rotherham the 16:17 journey will be retimed to 16:25 and the 16:53 journey will be retimed to 16:55
• the 15:05 Monday to Friday journey towards Rotherham will run on school holidays only
• During school term time the 15:05 journey becomes the school service 615 running via St Bernard’s School

• 115 (First) – Rotherham – East Herringthorpe – Dalton – Thrybergh – Ravenfield Common

• 207 (First) – Sheffield – Meadowhall – Whiston - Rotherham – there will be minor timetable changes to the journeys from Rotherham only

Customers are advised to keep checking our website for the latest service information.

Timetable information on all affected bus stops, on buses and in Interchanges, will be updated as soon as all the information has been received and processed.
