Our team of 11 Community Advice Officers (CAOs) offer a comprehensive support and advice service to our clients in the local community often at a very difficult time of someone's sight loss journey. They regularly do training on different aspects of our clients' needs and we heard about one of these from Schani recently: "I recently attended a two day online training called Benefits Maximisation for Older People run by Child Poverty Action Group. What initially sounds quite a dry course, with lots of benefits calculations and policy, turned out to be a well written and well delivered course. We learnt all about pension credit and other linked benefits. Most of the CAOs have now been on this training, either in April or September, like me, so this knowledge will be rolled out on visits where appropriate."
