Introduction to the Role

Over time, clients' requirements may change, and our volunteers telephone clients to check if they need any other support or services, that our database holds the correct information and to record any updates or amendments.

Skills required:

Basic IT skills required, recording skills and good telephone skills. Confidentiality and data protection training given.

Friendly, organised, confident volunteers who enjoy speaking on the phone and who have good listening skills. Good communication, commitment to the role and a clear speaking voice are important.

Time Involved:

Generally 2 to 4 hours 1 day a week, Monday to Friday.

Where the role is based:

At SRSB’s Mappin Street Centre in Sheffield or RSS's Ship Hill Centre in Rotherham.

You can read what our volunteers get out of different roles on our Volunteer Testimonials page.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not currently accepting applications due to the COVID-19 situation, as our centres are closed. When restrictions are lifted we would be very pleased to hear from you.

In the meantime, if you would like us to contact you when our centres reopen, you can email us here: volunteers@srsb.org.uk and we will keep your name on record.
