Cookery Group Volunteer

Introduction to the Role:

SRSB runs several Cookery Groups for people with sight loss who attend the Activities Centre, and we require volunteers to facilitate the groups.

These groups aim to help increase confidence and encourage people to carry on doing what they enjoy, and also to have fun! Our baking group uses the sepcially equipped kitchen to bake cakes, scones and pastries.

We would like to expand the cookery groups to each week day and would also like to offer cookery groups for making savoury and healthy food.

Skills required:

An interest in cookery. Good organisational and communication skills. Approachable, patient and encouraging personality.

Time Involved:

Sessions are usually 2 to 3 hours. Monday to Friday.

Where the role is based:

At SRSB’s Mappin Street Centre in Sheffield.

You can read what our volunteers get out of different roles on our Volunteer Testimonials page.
