Touch Tour Insight and Audio Described Performance of Northern Ballet's Swan Lake

Saturday 19th March at Sheffield Lyceum

We have been asked to pass on this information to you by Northern Ballet. SRSB are running a Culture Club trip for our clients to this and we do have a few places left if you would like to join us, however, if you would like to go along independently, here is the information:

Haunted by the tragic death of his brother, and confused by his feelings towards his two best friends, Antony looks to the water for answers – in whatever form they take.

With all the beauty for which Swan Lake is renowned, Northern Ballet brings you a modern take on an iconic classic. This show is the ultimate experience whether you’re a dance lover or this is your first trip to the ballet.

This tale of love and obsession is performed to Tchaikovsky’s beautiful and moving score, played live by Northern Ballet Sinfonia.

Our audio described performance access days enable visually impaired patrons to enjoy a range of activities that enhance the enjoyment and understanding of ballet.

The day consists of Touch Tour Insight workshop which introduces elements of the production to aide in your understanding of the show.  You will hear a description of the scenery, feel the props and costumes, and discover the shapes and quality of the movement from the ballet with the aid of Company dancers.

The audio described performance, described by VocalEyes, enables patrons to enjoy the story of the ballet and the emotion and quality of movement accompanied by live music from the Northern Ballet Sinfonia.

Northern Ballet’s production of Swan Lake will be performed at Sheffield Lyceum from Tuesday 15th– Saturday 19th March. The audio described performance will take place on Saturday 19th March.

The Touch Tour Insight will take place from 12.30pm – 1.45pm and is free to visually impaired patrons and their companion. The audio described performance starts at 3.00pm.

Ticket prices range from £12.50 - £35.00. Please enquire at the Box Office about discounted tickets for visually impaired patrons and your companion. To book tickets, please call the theatre Box Office on 0114 249 6000.

Please make sure you inform the Box Office that you are booking for an audio described performance and let them know if you wish to attend the Touch Tour Insight, as it’s useful for us to know how many people to expect and also of any access needs you may have.
