Supertram overhead line equipment works – Saturday 19 October and Sunday 20 October 2024
Network improvement works are planned on the Supertram network between Meadowhall and Valley Centertainment on Saturday 19 October and Sunday 20 October and will affect Yellow route tram and Tram Train services. These works involve the installation of Tensorex tension units on the overhead line equipment to improve operation and reduce the risk of unplanned closures on the network.
The works, one element of a multi-million-pound investment in the tram system, are part of SYMCA’s ongoing investment in Supertram and are critical to extend the lifespan of one the region’s best loved modes of transport.
How will the works affect Tram services?
To allow the essential engineering works to take place between Meadowhall and Valley Centertainment, tram services will be subject to alteration on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October.
Valley Centertainment, Carbrook, Meadowhall South/Tinsley, Meadowhall Interchange, Rotherham Central and Rotherham Parkgate tram stops will not be served.
During the works, the Supertram network will run a revised timetable and services will operate as follows:
Yellow route tram services will operate between Middlewood and Arena/Olympic Legacy Park only
- Tram Train services will not operate but additional Yellow route services will operate between Cathedral and Arena/Olympic Legacy Park in the early morning and evening on Saturday to replace some journeys.
- Blue route and Purple route tram services will operate as normal
Customers can view the revised tram timetables via our online Timetable Finder.
