Activities Centre Volunteer

Introduction to the Role:

To support and socialise with up to 40 visually impaired people within the Activity Centre. The role includes taking part in conversation and listening, helping with arts and crafts, singing, reading, games and quizzes, trips and outings, celebrations, serving lunch and drinks. The aim of the role is to help, support and maintain independence, and to create a safe secure space where people can develop and enjoy friendships by taking part in activities.

Skills required:

You will need to flexible for this role as there are lots of different activities taking place and you may be needed to assist with a few different tasks. It is essential that you are a friendly, caring, reliable person who enjoys meeting, socialising and interacting with our visually impaired clients.

Time Involved:

9:45am to 2:30pm 1 day a week, Monday to Friday.

At SRSB’s Mappin Street Centre.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not currently accepting applications due to the COVID-19 situation, as our centres are closed. When restrictions are lifted we would be very pleased to hear from you.
