Introduction to the Role

We need volunteers to assist with a range of sporting and leisure activities so that visually impaired people can participate in a safe, secure and friendly environment. This enables our clients to achieve a higher level of independence and hopefully make new friends. Most of the sports and leisure groups are organised by visually impaired people with support from SRSB. Examples of current activities are Bowling, Tenpin Bowling, Goalball, Swimming,

Gardening, Rambling, Archery and Creative Writing.

You will be working under the direction of the facilitator of the group you are supporting.

Where the role is based:

At different venues around Sheffield or at our Mappin Street Centre.

Time Involved:

Variable to suit the needs of the group.

Skills required:

We ask that you are a reliable, friendly, caring person and that you enjoy meeting and talking with people, with an interest in the group you will be supporting. You will need to be able to make your own way to the venue.
