Reminiscence Group

Mondays 11:00 – 12:30

SRSB’s Mappin Street Centre

This group began in May 2014 at SRSB, and was originally set up by Occupational Therapy Work Placement students, and is now run by volunteer Carol. The group is focussed on what our clients would like to talk about and is guided by Carol who is herself blind.

The group particularly enjoy discussing the history of Sheffield, but they also discuss personal stories about holidays, war experiences, etc. Sometimes people will bring objects in to talk about and sometimes they hold a quiz. They start with a subject and then end up wherever the conversation takes them!

Reminiscence has lots of benefits and it helps to share experiences and share unique experiences. It may also help to rekindle interests through discussion.

If you are interested in coming along to the group, please contact us on 0114 272 2757
