Our Ambassadors

Simon Wheatcroft, Client and Supporter of SRSB

Photograph of Simon

Simon has been a long standing supporter of SRSB. He is visually impaired and is passionate about raising awareness of sight loss. He is a great advocate of the opportunities of technology and how it can enable people with visual impairment to gain and maintain employment, help with study, assist with daily tasks and adapt to challenges, such as one of Simon’s passions: running ultra marathons! Simon is also a great role model and an inspirational speaker who motivates many people with his experiences and positivity. We are delighted that he has agreed to extend his support of our charity to become an SRSB Ambassador.

Anne supported SRSB as one of her Charities of the Year when she was in post as Lord Mayor in 2017/2018. We are so pleased that Anne has decided to remain involved and support us as an SRSB Ambassador. We had a great year raising awareness of our charity and Anne would like to continue helping us to achieve this. Anne is herself visually impaired, so she has a real passion and understanding of the challenges that our clients face every day. We look forward to Anne’s continued support.

Cllr John Campbell, former Lord Mayor of Sheffield (2012/2013)

John became involved with SRSB during his year in office as Lord Mayor. He has continued to be a valuable supporter, even taking part in our first ever Firewalk and Glass Walk in 2012 and more recently in 2018! John has also attended several SRSB events and has represented us at other events.

In 2013 we were delighted that he officially took on the role of SRSB Ambassador and we look forward to working with him in the future.

Dr Sylvia Dunkley, former Lord Mayor of Sheffield (2011/2012)

We were delighted that Sylvia decided to stay involved with SRSB after her year in office as Lord Mayor of Sheffield. We were extremely proud that she recognised the valuable work that we do by selecting us as one of her chosen charities in 2011/12. We enjoyed our work throughout the year so much that she agreed to carry on supporting us in the role of SRSB Ambassador.
