Computer Support Volunteer

Introduction to the Role

We require volunteers who will be able visit clients in their home to help them with computer related problems which they are unable to rectify. This can be as simple as installing a printer or more technical such as adding more memory, changing the hard disk or diagnosing/rectifying broadband connection problems.

You will be working independently although you will be supervised by Dyane Midgley, our Volunteer and Training Co-ordinator.

Where the role is based:

At the home of our client, in Sheffield.

Time Involved:

Variable, dependent on the nature of the problem, at a time to suit the volunteer and our client.

Skills required:

You should have relevant computer skills and also enjoy meeting and talking one-to-one with people. You should be able to make your own way to the home of the client. You will be acting as a representative of SRSB and must be reliable, trustworthy and professional.

Volunteers complete a report sheet after each visit to send in to SRSB, so good communication skills are important.
