Introduction to the Role:

We have regular groups of up to 40 clients who are picked up by mini-bus to attend our Activities Centre each day, Monday to Friday from 10:30am to 2:30pm.

Volunteers work alongside other volunteers and staff with large groups of visually impaired or blind people, assisting with a range of tasks which include: guiding them in and around the Centre, escorting on trips,

assisting with activities such as bingo, quizzes or crafts. Volunteers will also serve refreshment and lunches. You will be supervised by the Activity Centre Staff.

Where the role is based:

At SRSB’s Mappin Street Centre.

Time Involved:

4 hours, on day a week, Monday to Friday. Volunteers usually arrive for 10am, but we are flexible dependent on the time that you have available.

Skills required:

You will need to flexible for this role as there are lots of different activities taking place and you may be needed to assist with a few different tasks. It is essential that you are a friendly, caring, reliable person who enjoys meeting, socializing and interacting with our visually impaired clients.
